I am a family therapist specialising in children and adolescents, with more than twenty years of experience supporting children, adolescents and families in their emotional and psychological development.
My professional career has developed mainly in the field of child and adolescent mental health. I have worked in inpatient units, day hospitals and child and adolescent mental health centres of the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona.
This experience has allowed me to support very diverse situations and to understand that every child needs close, personalised care. There is no single way of working that suits all families: it is necessary to understand what is happening, what developmental stage the child or adolescent is at, and what their environment needs in order to support them.
My approach focuses on family relationships and on the connections that are built during everyday activities. Sometimes a small change in the way we look, communicate or respond can help untangle situations that have been causing distress for some time.
My training in systemic family intervention allows me to understand difficulties within the whole set of relationships around the child, without looking for someone to blame and helping the family to activate its own resources.
I have also specialised in nutrition and psychonutrition. This perspective allows me to offer comprehensive support to families facing eating disorders or difficulties related to eating and sleep in autism.
Another pillar of my work is mindfulness, which I use to help children, adolescents and adults to pause, observe what is happening and regain contact with something as essential as the breath.
My main motivation is to support families so that they can better understand what they are going through, care for their bonds and find safer ways to grow together.
